I remember meeting Johnny at the playground in kindergarten. Mostly because he was sitting in a wheel chair by the bench because he’d broken his leg and couldn’t run around. It’s weird the things you remember as a kid . If you told me at age 6 that at age 26 I’d be photographing my grade school best friend’s wedding, I wouldn’t of believed ya. (Also most of my 6th grade lunch table were groomsmen)
I hadn’t met Stephanie until this weekend, but after chatting with her throughout the day, I know Johnny is the luckiest guy. She’s a badass military chick, the most chill bride ever and incredibly kind. 🖤
I swear that every wedding I do, I walk away with a new take away and this one was no different. The amount of trust Johnny and Stephanie have in one another is admirable. Until Friday, I honestly didn’t know any women who would trust her husband enough to purchase their east coast home without her seeing it AND have him pick a photographer for their wedding day. That’s the kind of trust all of us need to have in our lives.
Below are some of my favorite moments from Friday!
Stephanie and Johnny’s first look with all the happy tears and hugs. Gosh, I love these two.
The sunflower bouquets!!! The best for all Fall weddings (in my humble opinion)
Wedding days go by so fast that it’s sometimes hard to live in the moment, however, not for these two. They took their time to soak in the first look and every conversation they had with each other and their guest was never rushed. You could almost see them bottling up every memory.
As they walked into the reception, Johnny squeezed his mom’s hand while also holding onto Stephanie’s. It was one of the purest moments I’ve seen. I’m not sure why I loved it so much, but it makes me tear up when I see it. You can just tell how close they are with their families, even having lived miles apart for the past few years. (Photo below for reference)
Stephanie’s poppin’ red coat she wore after the ceremony for outdoor photos. OBSESSED and fitting considering the chilly temperature.
Watching the bridal party hang out on the dance floor the whole night. There’s just something about having all your people in one place that brings out the best in everyone.
Thank you, Johnny and Stephanie for trusting me to capture your big day!
